BEGINNERS

Are you a beginner and wondering where to start and which pole classes to take? What the difference is between Series and Drop ins? Where to find beginner classes on the schedule? See below

  • Series classes are a set of classes that a student registers for which occur at the same time each week. Each lesson builds from the previous session in order to help students progress in their practice. Drop in classes are single classes that students can register for. Drop in classes are also designed to help students progress while also allowing for schedule flexibility (although it is recommended to take a full series or be enrolled in the same series as you are registering for Drop ins).

  • Many students will register in both a series and drop in classes at the same time. Series classes only meet once a week so registering for drop in classes allow students to get into the studio more often and progress quicker.

  • Most* of our students start with either an Intro to Pole /Taster Drop In class or Intro to Pole series. A Taster is a 60 min class which gives you a “taste” of beginner pole fundamentals. Intro to Pole can be taken as drop in classes or as a series of four 60 minute classes which includes everything you learn from a Taster and adds progressions to those skills over a 4 week series, building on previous class sessions.

Once a student completes Intro to Pole, they usually move to a Level 1 series. This is a six week series of 75 min classes. After this most students will continue with drop in classes until they have met the prerequisites for a Level 2. Level 3 and above are all drop in classes.

After a Level 1 series is completed, students are eligible to take specialty classes including Low Flow, Choreo, Sensual, Sensual San Heels as they will have the pole foundations required for these classes.

*If you have experience with other forms or dance or movement you may email us for permission to start with Level I.
